Marquita Gill
Marquita Gill (1861-1915)
Marquita Gill spent most of her career in the East, in Massachusetts, working in the style of impressionism, very much in vogue during her lifetime. Having a special affinity for the work of Claude Monet, she travelled to Monet's home in Giverny, France, where she was able to paint in the light and landscape of the master. Her specialty became landscape, seascape, still life and floral painting.
