WE BUY Fremont Ellis Fremont Ellis (1897 - 1985) Born in Virginia City, Montana, Fremont Ellis settled permanently in Santa Fe in 1920. Essentially self-taught, he became the youngest member of Santa Fe's famous early art colony, Los Cincos Pintores, and lived in a homemade adobe on Camino del Monte Sol. His work often depicts expanive landscape views in a rich, colorfully impressionistic style. Ellis died in Santa Fe at the age of 87. His paintings continue to influence New Mexico's artists of today and may be found in numerous private and public collections.
